Peter Warren Hatcher

Peter is nine years old and in fourth grade. He lives in New York City with his parents and younger brother, Farley, better known as Fudge. Peter is well-mannered and thoughtful but is not always patient with Fudge. Fudge celebrates his third birthday during the events of this novel. Peter is surprised when he begins to fill a different role with his brother, as role model and someone Fudge wants to emulate.
