Jess WInters

Jess Winters is a seventeen-year-old high school student who has recently moved to Sycamore with her mother Maud. Jess frequently goes out by herself in the middle of the night to think. On one of her walks, Jess is caught in a rain storm and disappears. Her bones are found nearly twenty years later in the wash of where a lake once existed.

Jess is headstrong and independent. She is curious about sex and feels a connection with Adam, the father of her best friend Dani. Jess and Dani’s friendship suffers when Jess’ relationship with Adam is revealed. Instead of pursuing a sexual relationship with Adam, Jess starts seeing Warren, a boy in her high school, but does not have true feelings for him.
