Summary

Charlie is euphoric that his boyfriend/girlfriend relationship with Fran has officially commenced. The two spend most of their alone time kissing, and they soon decide to have sex for the first time, planning a long weekend together. Charlie knows that Fran has had sex before, but she assures him that the feeling of love was never present (277).

It has been a while since the incident of throwing a pool ball at Lloyd’s head. Charlie has had little contact with his three high school friends since then, but he has been contemplating the maturity level of the group. He finally makes it over to Harper’s and has a chat with him over a game of pool.
