Summary

Ava remembered a 1950’s nature show she and her siblings had watched called “The Silently Screaming World.” The Bird Man put down a green tarp and told her to lie down. Ava realized what was about to happen but still didn’t move. Ava felt pain when the Bird Man got inside her. While he was still on top of her, Ava begged to go back. Later, she followed him back to the skiff. Her stomach and crotch hurt. She compared what had happened to her to Ossie’s possessions. She decided she wouldn’t tell anyone about what had happened. The Bird Man yelled at her to come to him. When she didn’t come right away he turned his anger into a fake smile. As the man told her he needed her help she also heard her...
