Summary

Kiwi was happy because he had just mailed a little more than $147 back to Swamplandia! He’d gotten a check mark plus for his essay in school and he’d passed the CPR class. He was working his last few shifts before beginning his job as a lifeguard. On Monday Dale Bonilla oriented Kiwi to his new job at the Lake of Fire. Because the lake was dyed deep red, it was hard to see anyone underwater. Dale advised Kiwi to watch the feet. During his lunch break Kiwi went to the payroll office and learned his father had not cashed the checks that he’d forwarded to him. He called the bank where his father’s debts were handled but wasn’t allowed to get any information because he was not a signer on the account.
