Summary

In Chapter 17, titled Red, Mia came to visit Flynn. She told him she had graduated law school and was moving to New York for a job. She reiterated her decision to end their relationship. He asked her to reconsider, explaining that he was formulating a plan to kill Frank. He asked her to give him a chance and help him break out of the hospital to go to Muldoon's. She hesitantly agreed. Flynn then visited Red and asked for his help as well.

In Chapter 18, titled Breakout, Flynn looked at group pictures of the patients at the hospital from Christmases past that hung on the walls, and noticed that Red was not in any of them. He assumed this was because Red's wife died on Christmas, so he did not enjoy celebrating the holiday. Red told Flynn he had an escape plan...
