Summary

In Chapter 8, titled Disappearing Dog, Flynn returned to the supermarket. On a cigarette break, Flynn noticed Frank was using Kurtis' Vanilla Sky lighter. He told Frank to return the lighter, and Frank refused, telling Flynn that Kurtis is interested in Mia. Frank also said he wanted to rob the store's safe. Flynn thought this would be a great story element for his novel. Frank also mentioned he had a date with Rachel for Thursday. That evening, Flynn took Bennett for a walk before his own date with Mia. He tied the leash to a park bench and sat down to think for awhile, and when Mia arrived, he realized Bennett had slipped out of his collar and run away. They looked for the dog, but could not find him. They returned to Flynn's apartment and discussed music, and Flynn realized he was falling...
