Chapters 15 - 21 Summary

Father Mulcahy meets with Dave Robicheaux and the sheriff In Chapter 15. After the incident on the houseboat, Father Mulcahy knows that his life is in danger. Robicheaux presses Mulcahy to divulge what Lila Terrebonne said but the priest flatly refuses. The mysterious man who terrorized Father Mulcahy waits in a New Iberia jail cell. According to his drivers license, the man is Harpo Scruggs of Deming, New Mexico. Robicheaux and the sheriff agree that they have nothing with which to charge Scruggs and Scruggs goes free. Robicheaux believes that Scruggs is connected to the Flynn family. Jack Flynn, who is Megan and Cisco's father, was kidnapped from a Morgan City motel in 1956. Beatn with chains, the man was then crucified by unknown assailants. Flynn was a local labor union organizer.
