Summary

In Chapter 26, Maia, Vix’s roommate at Harvard, questioned Vix about Bru. Vix already hated her. Vix felt out of place at Harvard. She hated the way Maia asked questions endlessly and the way she chewed her fingernails.

Maia calls Vix a “creature.” She is disappointed that this girl, who will hardly speak to her, is her roommate. Maia’s mother tells her to keep trying. Paisley, their suitemate, thinks Vix is mysterious.

Vix struggled to decide what she should study in school. She was overwhelmed by the choices she had. At the beginning of October, Vix’s father called to tell her that Lanie had her baby, a girl named Amber. She was offended when Maia referred to her sister as a statistic.
