Summary

In Chapter 10, Marc discusses how he had hoped to have sons, instead of daughters. Marc notes that he received these ideas from a controversial professor he had when he was in medical school, Aaron Herzl. To his surprise, his daughters are both eager to go to the backyard party hosted by Ralph and Judith. As the Schlosser family drives to the party, they discuss whether it is possible for a theater/stage actor can truly be famous anymore.

The Schlossers arrive at the party at the start of Chapter 11. Ralph immediately asks Marc about Caroline’s whereabouts, to Marc’s disgust. Marc shortly engages in a calculating and flirtatious conversation with Judith.
