Chapters Seventeen and Eighteen Summary

In Chapter Seventeen, Meredith escapes her room and remembers the time she went to the hospital. Her mother yells at her for telling the people in the hospital what her father did to her. Police or security officers are brought in to take her mother out.

Back in the present, Meredith runs to Andy's condo. Nigel is there. She tells him she knows that he is the one who had arrested her father. She wants to know what happened that day. When Andy asks what is wrong with her, she tells him that her parents are trying to have another baby.

In Chapter Eighteen, Meredith tells Nigel and the Mueses that her father touched her chest. When Mrs. Mues suggests this action would have violated Charles' probation, Nigel tells the story of the day that Meredith went...
