Chapter 13 Summary

It has been five days since the television show and Paul has gone to Spokane for a basketball tournament. Lindy and Cindy plan to leave the next day to support Paul. Shawn is struggling with a depression stemming from the idea that his father wants to kill him, trying hard not to surrender to it. Memories have suddenly become Shawn's main focus. Shawn thinks about a Christmas morning when he was six and he heard his brother and sister sneaking peeks at their presents. Shawn remembers when he was eight and his father insisted that Shawn be allowed to participate in a virtual reality attraction at the Pacific Science Center. Shawn thinks about music he has heard, paintings he has seen, perfume he has smelled......
