Chapter 12 Summary

During his seizure, Shawn thinks of all the things he likes: the taste of oysters, the smell of dusty books, and the baths his mother gives him. Shawn knows he wants to live, that he belongs here and he wants to stay. When Shawn comes back from his seizure, the show is over and Paul and Cindy are alone in the living room talking about him. Cindy talks about what she said on the show, about how it is difficult having a brother like Shawn, but that she feels guilty complaining. Then Cindy asks Paul if he thinks their father will do anything crazy and Paul assures her he would have to come through him to do it. This causes Shawn to remember a time the summer before when he was out on.....
