Striptease Style
Point of View Striptease is told in the voice of an omniscient third party that knows the thoughts and emotions of all the characters. The narrator is a neutral observer who merely tells the story with no particular feelings or fondness for any of the story's principal characters. Striptease is modern fiction, written in a real, direct style. The narrator allows the reader to decide the relative virtues and shortcomings of the characters with no added influence.
The focus of the narration swings between a few of the major characters. For the most part, the narration is centered upon Erin. At other significant times, the narration centers on Shad, Moldowsky, Mordecai and Darrel. The narration often focuses on one of these characters when they are hatching one of their schemes. Shad, for example, has the narrative spotlight when he plans to insert a cockroach in a cup of yogurt. Moldowsky is focused upon as he schemes to save Dilbeck from the scandal. Mordecai is featured as he plots to take advantage of the champagne bottle incident. Darrel is the focus of narration when he plots to keep Angela from Erin.
It is interesting to note that as critical a character he is to the main plot, very little of the point of view of the story is seen through the eyes of Congressman Dilbeck. This is likely...
