Chapter 19 Summary

Shad calls Sgt. Garcia and tells him its time to talk. Garcia picks him up and they go for a ride to Belle Glade, a town near Lake Okeechobee. Shad tells him everything he knows. He tells Garcia that Mordecai planned to go to Dilbeck and demand money and that Shad would get a cut. Mordecai is missing and Shad is worried. They're both worried about Erin. They arrive at the Belle Glade post office where Garcia wants to investigate John Riley, the name from the guest register of the Flightpath Motel. The clerk tells him that Mr. Riley is dead and has not picked up his mail in six months. Riley was hated by most people in town because he was the crew boss at Rojo Farms.
