Cleveland, Ohio

Cleveland is the main location of Aubrey's flashbacks in "Aloft." He met all of his college friends while attending school in Ohio. While he spends some time in London after his undergraduate education, he ends up going back to Cleveland in order to spend time with June before she dies.

The Cloud

After his initial jump from the skydiving plane, Audrey spends most of his present day in "Aloft" on the cloud. The cloud is a cloud-shaped UFO which is powered by a face inside of a black pearl at the center of the ship. Aubrey eventually finds a way to leave the ship, but the many questions raised about the ship's existence remain unanswered at the end of the story.

The events of the story begin in Honeysuckle's town where she lives, but then the rest of the story takes place during Honeysuckle's walk...
