Richard Rahl a.k.a. Richard Cypher

Richard is the main pivotal character in the book. Richard was raised by a man named George Cypher and lead to believe that this was his biological father. Stone of Tears is the second book in the series, and it is in this book that Richard learns that his biological father is Darken Rahl and that his grandfather is wizard Zeddicus "Zedd" Zu'l Zorander. Darken Rahl was an evil and cruel ruler who Richard killed in the previous book. Richard learns that Darken Rahl is his father, which bothers him to some small degree. The reader will see that Richard identifies George Cypher as his true father despite learning who his biological father is. Zedd is Richard's friend and Richard considers Zedd a loving influence and is quick to accept Zedd as a grandfather. Both Darken Rahl and Zedd are powerful wizards...
