In "Amusements," Clay and Elena chase the attacker through a bog. Although they have now changed into wolves and could easily outrun a human, they take their time, enjoying prolonging the chase. When they finally catch him, the man shoots Clay in the arm before they kill him. Clay and Elena change back into human form, then they have sex before Jeremy appears and instructs them to get rid of the bodies of the three dead men. After doing do, they leave the cabin because it is no longer safe and plan to attend the next day's meeting, realizing that only five other people know they are in Vermont and all of them will be at the meeting.
