Louisa’s black and yellow striped tights serve as a memory of the confidence that Will Traynor wants her to live by. Will gives Louisa these pantyhose during Me Before You. Louisa wears them when she is down after learning of Margot’s cancer to try to cheer her up. When Josh tries to get her to change, Louisa thinks about how she wanted to live her life after Will’s death and decides that complying with Josh’s wishes is not what she wants.
