Summary

Chapter 18

Parsefall and Lizzie Rose marvel over the puppet that looks like Clara. Lizzie Rose thinks it is just a coincidence, but Parsefall is convinced it is Clara.

Chapter 19

Grisini wakes at Strachan’s Ghyll, Cassandra’s home. He vaguely recalls taking the long train ride to arrive there. Cassandra sits beside him and insists on talking about the phoenix stone. Grisini eventually tells her that the stone must be stolen from her to protect Cassandra from the stone’s power. However, it can only be stolen by a child. For this reason, Grisini tells Cassandra she should write to his wards and invite them to stay. Grisini insists they are little thieves and it would only take a matter of time for one of them to take the stone.
