Part I, Chapter 6 - St. Gallway school was founded by Horatio Mills Gallway, a rags-to-riches newspaperman, in 1910. It is a private prep school which emphasizes cultural and societal advancement - from scientific discoveries to performing arts. Blue is unusually nervous her first day. She meets Charles Loren, handsome, blonde, and confident. They speak briefly, and Charles already knows her name. Charles invites her to join his study group. Blue also meets Sal Mineo, who asks her how she knows Charles, because everyone wants to know Charles. Charles is considered royalty. She also sees Charles carrying on with Hannah as though Hannah were his girlfriend.
