Chapter 14, Renegades, Summary

Ouanda and Miro take Ender through the gate to see the piggies. Ouanda is still clearly unhappy about the situation, and stops Ender to question him before they go deeper into the forest. Ouanda is made angrier still by Ender's attitude that he knows more about the piggies than she does. Further, Ender refuses to promise not to tell anyone they allowed him through the gate, putting both Miro and Ouanda's lives and careers at stake. As they walk deeper into the forest, Ender asks what Miro and Ouanda know about the piggies and tells them that they make too many assumptions.

At dinner that night, Ela and Quim argue over Ender with Quim calling Olhado a spy for helping Ender. Ela defends both Olhado and Ender by saying that it is time for their mother's secrets to be revealed because...
