Chapter 13, Ela, Summary

Miro and Ouanda are in the forest with the piggies. The piggies are upset because they believe Miro lied to them about the speaker. Miro wants to bring Ender to the piggies but Ouanda does not and when the piggies confront them, this differing opinion becomes clear. However, Miro becomes convinced that if they do not bring the speaker, Human will be killed, so he convinces Ouanda they must bring Ender to the piggies before nightfall.

Ela waits by the river for Ender. Ela is angry when Ender arrives, arguing with him about breaking into her mother's files, but manages to stop her anger long enough to tell Ender how she is jealous because she has wanted to see those files for a long time.
