Chapter 12, Files, Summary

Ender has become so dependent on Jane for work on the computer, that he does not know how to perform simple tasks. Ender hires Olhado to show him how to perform a search of files. Ender uses the skills he sees Olhado use to perform a search of Novinha's files, unable to reach the one file he truly desires to see, but seeing many of her lesser files. Novinha is angry about this breach of security, but she is angrier about Ender's relationship with her children, though glad for the change in her children. Quim comes to Novinha and tells her that Olhado and Quara are at Ender's place. Novinha walks with him to the hut and they argue when they get there, with Quim questioning his mother's religious and moral convictions in reference to Ender. Novinha then finds Olhado and...
