Andrew Wiggin, or Ender, is now a speaker for the dead who lectures at a university on the planet of Trondheim. While leading a discussion on the Bugger Wars with a handful of students, Ender learns of the death of Pipo through a special jewel implanted in his ear designed to keep him in touch with all the news within the Hundred Worlds.
