Part 1, Chapter 6 Summary

Milkman and Guitar are in Mary's bar, though Guitar is not drinking anything alcoholic and Milkman wonders why his friend Guitar has been so secretive lately. Finally, Milkman's curiosity gets the better of him and asks Guitar about this. At first, Guitar is wary, but Milkman's insistence finally convinces makes Guitar come clean.

After promising Milkman to absolute secrecy, Guitar tells his friend that he is in an organization called The Seven Days. The purpose of this organization is to kill a white person for every black person that dies at the hands of white people. Furthermore, the members cannot smoke, drink or have sex and they are sworn to absolute secrecy, even from family members.
