Part 1, Chapter 5 Summary

Milkman goes over to Guitar's place in order to hide from Hagar, but even Milkman knows that Hagar will be looking for him there. As Guitar points out, she is utterly determined to kill Milkman and she is going to try again tomorrow. Obviously, Guitar does not want to leave Milkman in his apartment alone, but Milkman finally convinces Guitar to leave him be so that he can face his fate tomorrow.

After Guitar is gone, Milkman lays down on the couch to get some sleep.
