The ocean that covers the planet Solaris is an organic form unlike anything known to science. Scientists try to study it, but they cannot come to any definite conclusions about it. The ocean somehow stabilizes the orbit of its planet and prevents it from crashing into the sun. The ocean creates giant forms out of the water.
