Summary

Pages 124 through 148 begin with a 1979 section. The Bummer, Kevin, Richard and Carlos walked out of the bar and the Bummer demanded to be paid, because Carlos had divulged Tad’s location. Richard protested, but Kevin told him that it was just money and the Bummer would not desist until he was paid. Richard gave the Bummer the money: the Bummer went to a prostitute. Kevin noticed a truckload of soldiers driving by and heard sirens and chanting. Other patrons at the bar walked towards the commotion.
