Chapter 31 Summary

This particular Sacrifice Zone was once a shipyard. It is fenced, but the fence is torn in places. Ng drives the van straight through a portion of the fence. The ground is littered with glass and asbestos, and rats scurry away from the lights of the truck. Y.T. hears a sound coming from the speakers, like a low hiss. The pitch grows louder, and Ng grunts a command that drops the volume. Ng tells Y.T. that the sound is from an instrument that detects cell-penetrating compounds, and that it may have found something, and if it is Snow Crash, they can abort the rest of the plan.
