Chapter 1 Summary

The book opens with a description of "The Deliverator". The Deliverator used to write software, now he delivers pizza for Cosa Nostra under one principle, "The Deliverator stands tall, your pie in thirty minutes or you can have it free, shoot the driver, take his car, file a class action lawsuit". To prevent customers from arguing over delivery times, each box has an LED timer that starts when the call is made. When the box is loaded into his car, it uploads customer information and optimal travel routes into the Deliverator's car, which puts the info onto a heads-up display. The Deliverator does not want to think about what would happen if Uncle Enzo had to get out of bed to apologize for a late pizza. When he arrives at the Cosa Nostra.....
