Chapters 13 and 14 Summary

Back in the future, six days have passed since Wilbur began his memoir. The gravity has been shifting frequently from light to oppressively heavy. Now it is light so Melody and Isadore continue to work on a Pyramid they are constructing from building and car parts, furniture, and whatever else they can find. The pyramid is being constructed over a manhole, under which is a stillborn baby in a humidor box. The baby was born by Melody at the age of 12 and was the result of being raped on her way to find her grandfather, Wilbur. Now sixteen, Melody is pregnant by Isadore. Isadore is part of the Raspberry family. They are hunters and gatherers and grow some of their own crop. They primarily live around the ruins of the New York Stock Exchange and will eat just about anything.
