Cars are the main mode of transportation for Lia and her friends. Cars no longer need to be driven manually; coordinates are programmed in and the car does the rest.

The Network

Much like the current internet but far more advanced, the network is a virtual reality world that plays a major role in the lives of all of the novel's characters.

ViMs (Virtual Machines)

ViMs are one of several ways that individuals can link in to the network; Lia received her first ViM when she was three years old.

Retro Fashions

Lia's sister Zo has always been a fan of "retro" fashions. Although Lia and her friends always hated them, after the accident her friends start to wear them following Zo's lead.
