Point of View

"Skin Deep" is written in third person from an omniscient perspective though there are some aspects of the perspective that are limited, mainly in an effort to retain the suspense and allow for the twist at the end of the story. The omniscient perspective gives the reader insight into the various characters. One such scene is in chapter seven when Reece returns from getting Jordan's car from where it was stuck in the woods. Jordan is asleep when Reece returns and she doesn't wake Jordan. There is only a short section that occurs before Jordan wakes, but it prompts the idea of Reece as a protective person. The perspective generally limited to Jordan and most of the time the reader sees only into Jordan's thoughts. These sometimes offer insights into Jordan's character.
