Basudha

Sudha is the daughter of Gopal and Nalini Chatterjee. She marries Ramesh Sanyal in an arranged marriage. Sudha later divorces Ramesh because his mother insists she abort her baby because it is a girl. Sudha is the mother of Dayita.

Sudha is born and grows up in the illustrious Chatterjee house in Calcutta, India. Both she and her cousin Anju are shielded from the troubles of life by their mothers and aunt, who raise them in the ways of the traditional Indian customs.
