Summary

During Chapter 16, Ryan visited the facility. He wanted to make a difference for and impact some kids. He chatted with kids outside, including a boy who reminded him of what he had been like at his age. Ryan felt that the boy seemed very angry. Talking with him, he found out that he wanted to be a rapper.

Ryan sang and gave a speech in front of the kids. He tried to connect with them. Later, he again met with the rapper and tried to connect. He also chatted with a girl who liked to sing, and he encouraged her to continue singing.

Speaking to the staff, Ryan described how lonely and angry he had felt at the center. But he remembered one staff member who had talked with him and cared about him. To Ryan’s surprise, that staff member, Priscilla Jenkins...
