3-4 Summary and Analysis

Chapter 3 - murder, she wrote

Misty left her job in December of 1996. She had been working in the legal department at Lockheed Martin, and her contract was over. She wanted to spend more time with their children. Kathi seemed to be growing distant, and Chris's grades were slipping.

One day she was feeling down and remembered that Cassie had been given a teen Bible. She went into Cassie's room to look for it, but she also came across a stack of letters. The letters were from her friend Mona and were filled with horrible messages. Mona asked Cassie if she wanted to help murder a teacher, and the letters were filled with words and images of spells, knives, vampires, and mind altering mushrooms. In the letters Mona encouraged Cassie to kill her parents and had graphic images about this and murder...
