Chapter Six Summary

Lily is awakened from a nightmare by a banging on her door. Jack Leeds is outside, begging entry as he is being chased. Lily opens the door and the detective falls in. Lily has not turned on the light at Jack's request so she uses her hands to check him and discovers a bullet wound in his shoulder. Lily helps Jack to her room to hide and hears voices outside. Darcy Orchard yells for Lily to open her door so that they can be sure she is alright as they are chasing a burglar from the sporting goods store. Lily angrily steps onto her porch and confronts the group telling them that she is fine. Bard recognizes Darcy, Jim Box and a few others, including Tom David Meicklejohn.
