Chapter 18 Summary

Quaid calls Gwen on her cell phone and mentions the case number she had given him earlier. It's the missing person report filed by Cody. The date on it shows it was filed yesterday. She tells Quaid that Cody said he filed the report almost a week ago. Sergeant Walsh's signature is on the paperwork, so he asks her if she believes Walsh to be a liar. She is silent for a moment, then brings up the fact that her last case on the force was an undercover assignment from Walsh that he later denied.

Quaid hears her out and realizes he has a difficult decision to make concerning whether or not he backs Gwen on this or Walsh. Either way is risky for him. Quaid tells her that he has arranged for.....
