Chapter 16 Summary

The next morning Gwen drives to see Frank and get the information on the heir case he mentioned the night before. She knocks on the door, but there's no answer. She lets herself in and looks around for him. He's not at his computer or in his bedroom. She notices a bottle of scotch on the table and is startled. Frank had quit drinking five years ago. She wonders if perhaps he had called his son and the call had gone badly.

She starts thinking the worst and goes out to his boat to see if he had taken it. The boat is out in the middle of the water, but the towboat is still there. She takes out her cell phone, calls the police, then rows out to the other boat. Frank.....
