Chapter 8 Summary

The next morning Gwen goes to Ryan Cody's office (Simmons, Fletcher and Rye) pretending to be a friend of Meredith's. She uses the name Fiona Warwick and asks to see Cody. Once Cody comes out and escorts her to his office, she apologizes and tells him she's really not a friend of Meredith's, but a private investigator hired to find his daughter. He seems to understand her deception and her wish to make her meeting confidential, and offers his help in any way.

She questions him in the same manner in which she questioned Mrs. Cody. She asked if Meredith's behavior had been suspicious in the days prior to her disappearance, and how long he waited to phone the police once he knew she was missing. He offers nothing new and asks her.....
