Section 14: Chapters 33-35 Summary

In Chapter 33, Lucian warns the women against drinking the poisoned wine, but Queen Lavonda has already had a sip, so Dame Okra leads her to the doctor. Lady Corongi glares at Josef who insists he is innocent and swears that Lady Corongi gave him this wine and the wine he delivered to Princess Dionne. As Lady Corongi objects, a horrifying voice calls her an imposter, and Lucian opens his hand to reveal Seraphina's lizard figurine. When Lady Corongi grabs Glisselda and runs, Lucian orders the guard to seal the tunnels as he and Seraphina chase Lady Corongi, fearing for Glisselda's safety. Activating Orma's earring, Seraphina also mentally contacts Abdo, asking him and Lars to go to the northwest side of the castle and warning that they may face a hostile dragon.
