Cleveland is the city in which this vacant lot is located. The neighborhood is a working class neighborhood that is divided by race and nationality. This particular neighborhood is one that is crime-ridden until the people form a community based on the garden and begin looking out for each other.

Vacant Lot

This trash-filled vacant lot is transformed into a community garden. Three sides of the garden are lined by apartment buildings while Gibb Street runs along the fourth side of the lot.

Public Health Department

Leona takes a bag of garbage from the vacant lot with her when she goes in person to the Public Health Department in an attempt to get the city to remove the trash from the lot.
