Chapter 26, "It's Mother!" Summary

Sometimes Colin gives magic lectures after mystic circle. He thinks it good practice for the lectures he will give when he grows up and lectures about the great scientific discoveries he will be making. One morning he arises from weeding and stands still, just as he does when thinking out a lecture, but this time he stretches out and whoops to Mary and Dickon to look at him. It has just occurred to Colin that he is truly well, just as he hoped when he first entered the garden. He wants a way to express his joy, and Ben suggests that he sing the Doxology. Dickon explains that they sing it in church, and that his mother thinks it must be what skylarks sing when they awake in the morning. Dickon.....
