Second Foundation Characters

Arcadia Darell

Arcadia is the main character of the second part of the novel. She is a 14-year-old schoolgirl and daughter of Dr. Darrell. Arcadia is from a renowned family, her grandmother being the legendary Bayta Darrell.

When Arcadia overhears a conversation between her father and the five conspirators, asking Homir Munn to visit Kalgan, she stows away on Munn's spaceship. Her father quickly finds out, but it says a lot about her maturity that he thinks it wiser for Munn to continue on his journey and use Arcadia to deflect any suspicions Kalgan authorities may have of his visit. When they arrive in Kalgan, Arcadia does little more than shop until Lord Stettin invites her and Munn to his palace. Here Arcadia meets Stettin's mistress Callia.
