Chapter 18 Summary

Kaitlin and Abby await their father's return. When he does return, he is very happy to be home, and Kaitlin, Abby, and their mother, are very happy to have him back. Kaitlin and Garner go for a walk, and Kaitlin asks him about what happened the night Robert Crutchfield died.

Garner explains he confronted Robert, who attacked him. Garner shoved Robert back, and Robert fell and had his head sliced open on a rock. The Crutchfield employees blamed Garner. Jack Crutchfield was also there that night.
