Chapter 14 Summary

Inside Bram's house, Kaitlin meets Bram's Uncle Jack, who is up from Las Vegas on some unfinished business. Kaitlin believes that Uncle Jack has recognized the similarities between her and her father. Kaitlin is dropped off at Becky's house by Bram, and then goes home to read Maggie's diary. The entries date back to the 1870s.

The shocking revelation in the diary emerges that the baby Maggie has belongs to Jared Malone or Kaitlin's own ancestor.

The entire Malone-Crutchfield feud was the result of two foolish sisters and a cheating man.
