Chapter 6 Summary

Realizing who Bram is, Kaitlin says she needs to leave. She gets into her car and drives off. Her mind races about whether or not to destroy the portrait, and about how the Crutchfields tore her family apart. She decides not to destroy the picture, but hugs it instead.

Chapter 6 Analysis

Kaitlin has never known anything other than hatred for the Crutchfield's. Now that she has seen the human side of Bram, she cannot go on hating him because she knows he is not a monster like she imagines the other Crutchfields to be.
