Chapter 13 Summary

Jamal could not answer any questions on the Social Studies test. He thinks this is why his teacher, Mr. Hunter, is sending him to the principal's office. After waiting while Mr. Davidson riffles through some papers, Dwayne comes into the office with his mother. Dwayne's mother asks him to repeat the story he told her to Mr. Davidson. Dwayne accuses Jamal of starting the fight last week and starting it again yesterday. He accuses Jamal of aiming a gun at him. Jamal denies having a gun and says that Dwayne is the one who is starting the fights and that Dwayne is just mad because Jamal tore his shirt. Dwayne's mother, Mrs. Parsons, wants the police brought in, but Mr. Davidson says he cannot accuse Jamal of having a gun based on one.....
