Summary

Chapter 41

After group therapy, back in his room, Miles is looking out of the caged window. He’s amazed and distraught that he’s in a psych ward. He watches crows in the tops of trees and circling around the caged window. He gets sick to his stomach when he thinks about Eliza. His roommate comes in. It turns out to be guy from the group, Max, who told the rest of the group to let him speak. Max is about two years older than Miles. He seems very nice and has a severe stutter. When they sit down to chat, Miles asks him why he’s in the psych ward. He simply tells him that he can't function in the real world. Miles tells him that he can't either.
